Abstract:
When the oil levels of right and left in-wheel motor units are different in a high vehicle speed range (VSP≥VSP1) in which the oil stirring resistance exceeds an acceptable level, the difference in oil stirring resistance between right and left wheels increases, and the travel stability of a vehicle deteriorates due to the large difference in driving force between the right and left wheels. Therefore, in the high vehicle speed range (VSP≥VSP1), oil pumps of the right and left in-wheel motor units are each driven and controlled such that the oil pumping quantity (Q) thereof maintains a constant flow quantity (Qconst) corresponding to the unit requirement oil quantity. Consequently, the right and left in-wheel motor units continue to maintain the same oil level, and the oil stirring resistances in the right and left in-wheel motor units become the same, thereby making it possible to avoid the deterioration of the travel stability without causing the difference in driving force between the right and left wheels.
