Abstract:
A machine learning device according to the present invention comprises: a storage unit that stores soil data of cultivated land where plants of a prescribed kind are cultivated, image features extracted from captured images of the cultivated land, and growth data of the roots of the plants of the prescribed kind and/or the amounts of carbon dioxide absorption of the roots of the plants of the prescribed kind at the times when the images were captured; and a model generation unit that generates, through machine learning, an estimation model for estimating, from soil data and image features extracted from a captured image, growth data of the roots of a plant of the prescribed kind and/or the amount of carbon dioxide absorption of the roots of the plant of the prescribed kind at the time when the image was captured.
