Abstract:
A machine tool (200) for machining a workpiece (10), having a movement means (206) for enabling the machine tool (200) to move on the workpiece (10) and a drive means (208) for driving the movement means (206). A machining mechanism (212) is arranged in the machine tool (200) to hold a tool element (250), operate the tool element (250) for machining the workpiece (10), and move the tool element (250) to selectively engage the tool element (250) with the workpiece (10). The machine tool (200) also includes a controller (202) arranged to control the drive means (208) and the machining mechanism (212) so as to machine the workpiece (10) based on a predetermined machining pattern.
