Abstract:
Provided is a machine tool capable of reducing the work of switching between a guide bush mode and a non-guide bush mode. The machine tool (1) is equipped with: a main shaft base (10) provided with a main shaft (12) for gripping a workpiece (W1); rails (200) parallel to the central line (AX1) of the main shaft; first bearings (110) that are fixed to the main shaft base (10) and guided by the rails (200); second bearings (120) that are fixed to the main shaft base (10) on the front side (S1) of the first bearings (110) and guided by the rails (200); a support base (30) in front of the main shaft (12) on which a guide bush (32) for slidably supporting the workpiece (W1) is detachably provided; and a guide section (40), which is provided on the support base (30) when the guide bush (32) has been removed and is for movably supporting the main shaft base (10) in the direction (D1) of the central line of the main shaft. The rails (200) are configured so that the play of the second bearings (120) when the main shaft base (10) is supported by the guide section (40) is greater than when the main shaft base (10) is not supported by the guide section (40).
