Abstract:
This machine tool comprises: a turret (3) which is provided with a plurality of tool mounting portions having a clamping mechanism configured to clamp a tool and maintain a clamping force when clamped, and which indexes each tool mounting portion to a machining position; a tool attachment/detachment operation imparting mechanism for executing a tool attachment/detachment operation with respect to the tool mounting portions in a prescribed position; and a control device (40) for controlling the operations of the turret (3) and the tool attachment/detachment operation imparting mechanism. The control device (40) is provided with a clamping force re-imparting unit (49) which drives the turret (3) and the tool attachment/detachment operation imparting mechanism to once again impart the clamping force to the tool mounting portion that has clamped the tool. The clamping force re-imparting unit (49) monitors, with respect to the tool mounting portions, an elapsed time from when the clamping force was newly imparted, and when the elapsed time exceeds a predetermined permitted time, once again imparts the clamping force to the corresponding tool mounting portion.
