Abstract:
Provided are a novel magnesium compound and a positive electrode active material comprising the magnesium compound, capable of constructing a magnesium secondary battery having high theoretical capacity, high electric potential, and high theoretical energy density at a low cost. Also provided is a production method for the magnesium compound. The magnesium compound according to the present invention is represented by Mga Xb Mnc Od (1) (here, in formula (1), X is at least one selected from the group consisting of Fe and Cu. Further, a represents 0.5-1.5, b represents 0.5-1.5, c represents 0.5-1.5, and d represents 3.8-4.1).
