Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to provide, via an industrially stable process, a lightweight magnesium alloy having excellent mechanical properties. Provided is a magnesium-lithium-aluminum based alloy comprising magnesium, 2-6.0 mass% lithium, and 5-10 mass% aluminum. Also provided are: a production method for the magnesium-lithium-aluminum based alloy in which two types of raw material chips containing prescribed elements are prepared and mixed; and a production method for a molded article in which a magnesium-lithium-aluminum based alloy obtained by the above production method is injection-molded.
