Abstract:
The present invention relates to a magnetic refrigerator using magnetic refrigeration characteristics, wherein heat is radiated when a magnetic field is applied to a magnetic material, but the temperature is decreased when the magnetic field is removed, and particularly to a magnetic alloy refrigerant for an environmentally friendly magnetic refrigerator which can exhibit the best magnetocaloric effect and be produced in an environmentally friendly manner at a low cost by manufacturing a magnetic refrigerant serving as a magnet comprising an Ni2-xMn1+xGa1 alloy, the Curie temperature of which varies with the composition ratio of Ni and Mn. That is, the present invention is characterized in that the magnetic refrigerant consists of an Ni2-xMn1+xGa1 alloy prepared by arc melting, wherein the content of Ni and Mn satisfy -0.5 at% ≤ x ≤ 0.5 at%.
