Abstract:
A thin layer-shaped magnetic element (10) is able to produce a skyrmion (S), and is provided with a thin layer-shaped lower magnetic body (111), and a current circuit (112) provided to surround a predetermined region (A) including an end of the lower magnetic body (111) on one surface side of the lower magnetic body (111). When the width is denoted by Wm and the height is denoted by hm, the lower magnetic body (111) may have a size that satisfies 2λ>Wm>λ/2 and 2λ>hm>λ/2 with respect to the diameter (λ) of the produced skyrmion (S). When the width of the predetermined region (A) is denoted by W, and the height thereof is denoted by h, the current circuit (112) may be provided so as to surround the predetermined region (A) that satisfies λ≥W>λ/4 and 2λ>h>λ/2.
