Abstract:

A compound represented by the following general formula (1) (wherein R represents a group which is easily hydrolyzed in vivo and removed) or its salt. This compound can be used in producing a carbapenem antibacterial agent of the prodrug type for oral administration. By using this compound in a process for producing the above antibacterial agent, the production efficiency can be elevated and the production cost can be reduced.
