Abstract:
When duplicating data which is respectively stored in logical volumes within a first storage device to a first pool within another second storage device and carrying out data protection: usage quantities of each logical volume are acquired from the first storage device, and usage quantities of the first pool are acquired from the second storage device; estimates are made of future usage quantities of each of the logical volumes on the basis of the usage quantities of each of the logical volumes; on the basis of the results of the estimations, estimates are made of the future usage quantities of the first pool, for each respective priority, when duplicating to the first pool the data which is stored in each of the logical volumes for which any priority from the highest priority to the current priority is set; and the result of the estimation is displayed. Thus, management of data protection is simplified.
