A map information processing device selects shape coordinate information corresponding to one of buildings or land sections out of a plurality of buildings or land sections, identifies the road link closest to the building or land section corresponding to the shape coordinate information according to the selected shape coordinate information, acquires house number range information contained in the road link information corresponding to the identified road link, calculates, according to the acquired house number range information, the house number at the point at which the vertical line drawn from a predetermined point on the contour or within the contour of the planar outer shape of the building or land section represented by the selected shape coordinate information to the identified road link crosses the road link, and determines a house number which is to be given to the selected shape coordinate information on the basis of the calculated house number.
