Abstract:

Provided is a bellows-type mechanical seal having high degree of freedom of the arrangement of a collar and a secondary seal. A bellows-type mechanical seal (1) is configured such that a collar (3) mounted to a seal ring (15) with bellows (13) provided therebetween has restriction sections (4, 8) extending to the inner diameter side and/or the outer diameter side. The bellows-type mechanical seal (1) is provided with an adaptor (50, 70) mounted to the collar (3), the adaptor (50, 70) being prevented by the restriction sections (4, 8) from moving in the axial direction, the adaptor (50, 70) extending to the inner diameter side or the outer diameter side beyond the restriction sections (4, 8). The collar (3) and the adaptor (50, 70) define at least a part of a space (S, S') in which a secondary seal (60, 80) is accommodated.
