Abstract:
A media stream switching method and apparatus. The method comprises: an access network device receiving feature information of a first live broadcast media stream comprised in a switching request from a terminal device; and according to the feature information, the access network device or a user plane network element determining the first live broadcast media stream corresponding to the feature information of the first live broadcast media stream, such that the access network device or the user plane network element switches a media stream sent to the terminal device, i.e. switches a live broadcast media stream, which is sent to the terminal device, from a second live broadcast media stream to the first live broadcast media stream, wherein the second live broadcast media stream and the first live broadcast media stream both correspond to the access network device or the user plane network element. By means of the method, the switching of a media stream can be completed at an access network device side or a user plane network element side, which is conducive to switching a media stream in a timely manner, and to reducing the switching delay of the media stream.
