Abstract:
The medical observation device pertaining to the present invention is provided with: a microscope unit; a support unit for movably supporting the microscope unit, the support unit having a plurality of arm sections, and a plurality of articulated sections for connecting two arm sections and turnably holding one arm section to the other arm section about a predetermined shaft section; and one or more cables inserted through the interior of the support unit, the shaft section having a cylindrical shape through which the one or more cables can be inserted, the articulated section for connecting two arm sections orthogonal to each other in the extending direction of one arm section and the extending direction of another arm section among the plurality of articulated sections has a rotating section capable of rotating in accordance with the rotational force of the shaft section, and a limiting section provided in a position whose center axis is offset from the center axis of the shaft section and capable of limiting the rotation of the rotating section.
