Abstract:
This medical system (1) is provided with: a distal end having an imaging unit (5) and a plurality of joints; a drive unit (15) for generating power for operating the joints; and a control unit (51) for controlling the drive unit (15). The control unit (51) comprises: a characteristic point setting unit (53) that extracts characteristic points of an object and recognizes the object on the basis of the characteristic points; a distance measurement unit (54) that measures the distance between the imaging unit (5) and the object; a correction amount calculation unit (63) that calculates the amount of movement of the joints such that the imaging unit (5) is directed to face the object and adjust the distance between the imaging unit (5) and the object to a predetermined distance; and a drive signal generation unit (65) that generates a drive signal for operating the drive unit (15) on the basis of the amount of movement and outputs the drive signal to the drive unit (15).
