One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a merchandise movement device 1 comprising: a gripping part 10 that grips merchandise; an arm part 20 that moves the gripping part to an inventory shelf and a display shelf; a first imaging unit 50 that images the display shelf; a second imaging unit 60 that images the inventory shelf; and a control unit 151 that controls operations of the arm part, the gripping part, and the first and second imaging units. The control unit 151 is configured to: identify merchandise to be replenished, which is merchandise requiring replenishment on the display shelf, on the basis of display shelf-imaged image data generated by the first imaging unit imaging the display shelf; and to identify the position of inventory merchandise corresponding to the merchandise to be replenished in inventory shelf-imaged image data on the basis of shelf-imaged image data generated by the second imaging unit imaging the inventory shelf.
