Title:
MESSAGE AUTHENTICATOR GENERATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/154642
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A message authenticator generation device (10) uses a block cipher E having a block size n and generates a message authenticator. A hash function unit (21) uses the message M as an input and calculates a hash value w, using a hash function h having an output length longer than n bits. A post-processing unit (22) performs a calculation, using the block cipher E, on the hash value w calculated by the hash function unit (21) and calculates a message authenticator T no bigger than the block size n for the message M.
