Abstract:
The present invention provides: a quenching device and a quenching method, each of which is capable of freely controlling the temperature of a metal strip after quenching in a continuous annealing facility or a hot dip galvanization facility; and a method for producing a metal strip product. A metal strip quenching device (11) which quenches a metal strip (1), while conveying the metal strip in a horizontal direction, and which is provided with: a cooling fluid jetting device that is provided with a pair of or a plurality of pairs of nozzles (21, 22) for jetting cooling fluids (211, 222) to the metal strip (1) from both surface sides of the metal strip (1), said plurality of pairs being arranged in a horizontal direction; cooling fluid discharge rolls (51, 52) for discharging accumulated fluids on the metal strip (1) to which the cooling fluids have been jetted; and movable masking elements (31, 32) which are provided between the nozzles and a metal strip conveyance line, where the metal strip (1) passes, so as to be positioned on both surface sides of the metal strip conveyance line, and which control the distance from a cooling starting position of the metal strip (1) by the cooling fluids (211, 222) to the cooling fluid discharge rolls (51, 52) by adjusting the cooling starting position by moving in a horizontal direction.
