Abstract:
The invention relates to a metering device for metering liquid metal from a container (2). A pump housing (4) is disposed inside the container and is provided with an inlet for the supply of liquid metal from the container and with an opening for receiving a metering tube (6) configured as a siphon and with an opening for receiving a gas supply tube. The end of metering tube accommodated in the pump housing can be shut off by means of a valve. Said valve has a bypass which is dimensioned in such a manner that once the valve is closed and when the pump housing is filled, the metal level of the metering tube slowly drops to the level of the liquid metal inside the container.
