Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and apparatus for data transmission. The method comprises: receiving configuration information sent by a base station, the configuration information being used for indicating whether a PDCP layer of a preset data bearer enables a data packet deleting function; if the PDCP layer of the preset data bearer enables the data packet deleting function, recording the duration of transmitting service data units when the PDCP layer of the preset data bearer transmits the service data units to an RLC layer; in the case that the duration of transmitting the service data units is greater than a preset duration, determining a first service data unit that is not transmitted to the RLC layer in the service data units; and deleting the first service data unit. According to the embodiments of the present invention, on the basis of deleting a service data unit of a PDCP layer, a protocol data unit of the PDCP layer can be retained, so that the protocol data unit of the PDCP layer is transmitted to the RLC layer and then transmitted to a receiving end, thereby avoiding missing a sequence number and ensuring that the receiving end can receive data smoothly on the basis of active queue management to a certain extent.
