Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method performed at a first mobility management entity, MME in an MME pool. The method comprises, upon receipt of a downlink data notification message including a permanent identity of a mobile subscriber from a serving gateway that has detected a connection failure to a second MME serving the mobile subscriber in the MME pool, sending a first message for requesting location update to a home subscriber server, HSS associated with the mobile subscriber and paging with the permanent identity of the mobile subscriber so that an attach procedure is initiated at the mobile subscriber in response to the paging. The first message includes at least information indicative of the permanent identity of the mobile subscriber and information indicative of an identity of the first MME. Correspondingly, there is also provided an apparatus embodied at or as a part of an MME in an MME pool for service restoration.
