METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING A BUFFER STATUS REPORT IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a method in which a terminal reports an uplink buffer status in a wireless communication system. The method in which a terminal reports a buffer status in a wireless communication system according to the present invention comprises the following steps: checking whether or not a first buffer status report that is triggered but not cancelled exists during the allocation of uplink resources for transmitting new data; generating, if the first buffer status report exists, uplink data including the buffer status report; checking whether a second buffer status report that is triggered but not cancelled, other than the buffer status report included in the generated uplink data, exists; and determining, if the second buffer status report exists, whether to cancel the second buffer status report based on whether the first buffer status report is a regular buffer status report or a periodic buffer status report. According to the present invention, the terminal may not cancel a regular or a periodic buffer status report when the terminal reports a padding buffer status, thus eliminating the necessity of an additional operation of the terminal and reducing the complexity of the operation of the terminal.
