Abstract:
A method and apparatus for wrapping an elongated object comprise a hopper introduction mechanism (20) having a hopper (23) one end of which is inserted in a bag mouth when an object to be wrapped is loaded in the hopper and that guides the object to be wrapped to a wrapping bag, an operation mechanism (20) having an operation lever (36) for vertically moving the hopper (23), and a bag mouth-opening mechanism (60) for opening, in coordination with the operation of the operation lever (36), the bag mouth of the wrapping bag installed on a support body (40). The hopper (23) is lifted by moving the operation lever (36) to one direction, and in coordination with this, the bag mouth of the wrapping bag is opened by the bag mouth-opening mechanism (60). After that the operation lever (36) is moved to the opposite direction, so that the hopper (23) is lowered to cause the head portion of the hopper to be inserted in the bag mouth and the object to be wrapped is loaded from the other end of the hopper (23). The construction described above enables that, with a simple structure and simple operation, a flexible bag mouth is extremely easily opened and an object to be wrapped is reliably inserted into a wrapping bag.
