Abstract:
The present application provides a method and apparatus for link maintenance in a relay system, relating to the field of communication technology, and is used for reducing service interruption time delay caused by instantaneous changes in network flow or transient interruptions in a high-frequency link in a multi-hop relay network, avoiding service congestion caused by instantaneous changes in a terminal or flow of a backhaul, and improving the availability of the backhaul. The method comprises: a first node determines a candidate neighbor node to be measured; the first node measures the candidate neighbour node; the first node determines, according to a measurement result, whether to establish or delete a backup backhaul between the first node and the candidate neighbor node; and the first node sends a request to a second node, wherein the request is used for requesting the second node to establish or delete the backup backhaul between the first node and the candidate neighbour node.
