Abstract:
A method and a chip for monitoring a pet on the basis of a robot employing a grid map. A wireless signal device on a pet and a robot perform wireless communication to determine a mutual positional relationship between the pet and the robot, and then to determine whether there is an obstacle unit between corresponding grid units on a grid map in which the robot and the pet are located. If no obstacle is present, a current position and photographing direction of the robot enables effective photographing of the pet without requiring a change in the current position and photographing direction of the robot. If an obstacle is present, the robot may photograph the obstacle at the current position and not the pet; and therefore, the robot needs to reselect a monitoring position by determining a state of the grid units around the pet. Integrating the grid map into existing pet monitoring techniques, enables control of the robot to find a better monitoring position, thereby avoiding an issue in which the robot being easily blocked by the obstacle impacts a monitoring effect, and improving the effects of pet monitoring .
