Abstract:
The present invention achieves, when digital ink is able to be decoded using the same decoding method irrespective of fixed widths or variable widths and at least some of the stroke widths are fixed, coding for digital ink in which it is possible to reduce the number of bits for the digital ink compared to cases where all stroke widths are variable. The digital ink coding method according to the present invention includes: a step S8 for coding N pieces of position data P acquired in accompaniment with a stylus operation to thereby acquire a first binary that expresses a group of a series of x coordinate data and y coordinate data; a step S9 for coding M (M being an integer of at least 1 and no more than N) pieces of width data W that determines the respective widths of the positions of the N pieces of position data P to thereby acquire a second binary that is entirely separate from the first binary; and a serializing step S13 for generating a binary stream BinInk that includes regions in which the first and second binaries are different from each other.
