Abstract:
Provided are a method for configuring an IP address of a network device, and a related device. In the method, a first network device determines an IP address of an interface of the first network device by means of a device identifier of the first network device and an acquired device identifier of a second network device, so that an IP address is automatically configured, manual participation in network planning is simplified, and labor costs are reduced. In addition, the first network device can also send an ARP message to the second network device according to the generated IP address, so that the second network device can generate an IP address of an interface of the second network device according to the ARP message and a subnet mask, and thus, the two generated IP addresses can avoid an IP conflict, thereby realizing the automatic configuration of an IP address of a link between two network devices.
