Abstract:
Atherosclerotic diseases such as myocardial infarction and angina pectoris are detected by analyzing the single nucleotide polymorphism on human chromosome 5p15.3, and by associating said analysis result with onset risks. Examples of the single nucleotide polymorphism on human chromosome 5p15.3 include a nucleotide corresponding to the nucleotide at nucleotide position 61 of one of the nucleotide sequences represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 to 3, and a polymorphism at a nucleotide which is in linkage disequilibrium with the aforementioned nucleotide.
