Title:
METHOD FOR DETECTING THE DEFECTIVE OPERATION OF A PARTICULATE FILTER OF A POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/107686
Kind Code:
A9
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for detecting the defective operation of a particulate filter of a pollution control system of a heat engine, said particulate filter being impregnated with a catalyst enabling the reduction of nitrogen oxides NOx and a NOx sensor located downstream of said particulate filter for the detection of NOx that have not been reduced by said catalyst, and/or ammonia. According to the invention, the data (52) supplied by the NOx sensor is used to diagnose a defective operation of the particulate filter. The data supplied by said sensor can be the variation (53) of the characteristics of conversion of NOx by said catalyst.
