The present invention relates to a method for detecting grammatical errors, to an error detecting apparatus for same, and to a computer-readable recording medium having the method recorded thereon, which detect final errors in a sentence by sequentially applying a scheme for separating a written input sentence into a morpheme unit in order to tag parts of speech, detecting simple grammatical errors in English composition for a sequence of the tagged parts of speech and, at the same time, detecting errors in sentence structure by parsing the input sentence on the basis of rules defined by a connection relationship between adjacent parts of speech, and a scheme for generating a morpheme sequence bound in an arbitrary window size from the separated morphemes, searching an example-based database for each morpheme sequence to analyze a frequency in which each morpheme and a morpheme sequence for the morpheme are arranged, and then detecting errors in each morpheme on the basis of the examples. Accordingly, accuracy in grammatical error detection can be increased by analyzing the written input sentence in consideration of the rules due to a dependent relationship between adjacent parts of speech as well as regular rules of languages.
