Abstract:
Disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are a method for determining an uplink timing advance (TA) effective time in a non-terrestrial network (NTN), and an apparatus therefor, which method and apparatus can be applied to an NTN system. The method comprises: a terminal device receiving configuration information that is configured by a network device, wherein the configuration information at least comprises configuration parameters that are used when the terminal device is used to calculate the duration of an uplink TA effective timer; and the terminal device calculating the duration of the TA effective timer according to the configuration parameters, and determining a TA effective time according to the duration of the TA effective timer. By means of implementing the embodiments of the present application, it can be ensured that effective uplink synchronization can be maintained in an NTN.
