Abstract:
A method for determining transmission mode, a data transmission method and apparatus therefor, and a communication system. The method for determining transmission mode comprises: a base station acquiring beam forming capability information of a user equipment (UE); the base station determining the number of downlink transmit channels allocated to the UE according to the beam forming capability information of the UE, and determining an optimal transmitting direction of a beam, the optimal transmitting direction being the transmitting direction having the best signal quality among beam transmitting directions; the base station sending a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) specific to the UE in the optimal transmitting direction; the base station receiving a CSI measurement report obtained by the UE by means of measuring the CSI-RS specific to the UE; and the base station determining a downlink transmission mode of the UE according to at least one of the following: the number of downlink transmit channels allocated by the base station to the UE, a rank indication (RI) value in the CSI measurement report, and the beam forming capability information of the UE acquired by the base station.
