Abstract:
A method, device and indication for switching of cell diversity mode are disclosed. When the failure of a channel of the cell is detected by the base station, the base station indicates the radio network controller (RNC) to switch the cell from the transmitting diversity mode to the non-transmitting diversity mode through sending an indication message to the RNC, and the RNC switches the established cell from the transmitting diversity mode to the non-transmitting diversity mode according to the indication received from the base station; when the channel of the cell is recovered from the failure, the base station can indicate the RNC to restore the cell to the transmitting diversity mode, and the RNC restores the cell to the transmitting diversity mode according to the indication received from the base station. When the whole system has a failure, the cooperation between the base station and the RNC can decrease the manual intervention, restore the service rapidly, increase the reliability of the transmitting diversity cell significantly, improve the system performance, and guarantee the communication quality.
