Abstract:
A method of joining band−shaped glass panes to each other at the end parts thereof, comprising the steps of disposing the end parts of the band−shaped glass panes overlappingly with each other within the range of the width of the glass panes, heating the end parts with a burner to soften the end parts, and pressing, at least once, the overlapped portions of the band−shaped glass pane end parts softened by heating by a pressing mold from both sides along the wall thickness direction of the band−shaped glass panes to splice the overlapped portions and form the portions to a thickness equal to the plate thickness of the band−shaped glass pane.
