Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR LIBERATING OXYGEN ISOTOPES FROM OXYGEN-CONTAINING SOLIDS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2000049623
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for liberating oxygen isotopes from oxygen-containing solids. Said oxygen-containing solids are brought into contact with graphite and are heated by means of induction. CO and/or CO2 are resulting therefrom. According to the invention, the solid is heated in the presence of the graphite by inductively heating said graphite which is simultaneously used as a cuvet (1) in order to receive the sample. Sample decomposition and reaction to form the isotope test gas (CO) are thus produced. CO can be converted into CO2 if required.
