Abstract:
The present invention is characterized by repeating: a step wherein a preceding pad conveys a continuous body while receiving and holding the leading edge of the continuous body; a step wherein a subsequent pad catches up with the preceding pad; a bilateral holding step wherein the continuous body is held on both the preceding pad and the subsequent pad; and a cutting step wherein the leading edge of the continuous body is cut to produce individual workpieces on the preceding pad. In the bilateral holding step, the relative speeds of both pads are equal to each other and both pads rotate at unequal speeds in at least some sections, and the continuous body is fed from a feeder at unequal speeds in accordance with the change in the speeds of the pads rotating at unequal speeds.
