METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING DATA CARRIERS EQUIPPED WITH AN INTEGRATED TRANSPONDER

The invention relates to a method for producing data carriers equipped with integrated transponders, according to which the transponders (6a) are conveyed in a transponder web (6) and are covered with a label (5) on one side. The invention also relates to a device for producing data carriers equipped with an integrated transponder. Said device comprises means for conveying a web of labels (5) and means for conveying a web (6) comprised of adjoining transponders. The aim of the invention is to enable a reliable and cost-effective production of data carriers equipped with an integrated transponder by using the aforementioned method, in which the transponders (6a) are separated and aligned before being brought together with an assigned label (5), and by using the aforementioned device, in which a joining station (11) for cutting and separating the transponders (6a) from the transponder web (6) is provided that detaches and separates the transponders (6a) from the web (6) and individually transfers them to the label web (5).
