Abstract:
Provided is a method and device for real-time statistical analysis of a pedestrian flow in open space. The method comprises: extracting a current valid frame from a real-time video stream capturing the open space, the video stream being generated by a camera arranged above the open space (210); detecting each pedestrian in the current valid frame (220); employing a pedestrian re-identification algorithm to identify in the current valid frame a pedestrian identical to that of at least one of the preceding valid frames (230); and calculating, according to a result of the pedestrian re-identification algorithm, the number of pedestrians passing through the open space (240).
