The present invention discloses a method for a transmission file, comprising: when a file received from a transmitting end is incomplete, the received file is divided into blocks to obtain a first sub-file block; calculating a first sub-check code of the first sub-file block; transmitting block start and end information and the first sub-check code of the first sub-file block to the transmitting end, wherein, upon receiving the block start and end information and the first sub-check code, the transmitting end calculates a first original sub-check code of a first original sub-file block in an original file corresponding to the block start and end information, and when the first sub-check code and the first original sub-check code are inconsistent, the transmitting end re-transmits the first original sub-file block. The present invention further discloses a device for recovering an incomplete transmission file. The present invention achieves re-transmission of a first sub-file block when a file received is incomplete, reducing the amount of data of file re-transmission and enhancing the speed and efficiency of file re-transmission, as well as ensuring the completeness of a file.
