Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The method of user equipment (UE) of the present disclosure may comprise the steps of: transmitting, to a base station, information about a capability of the UE supporting provision of first UE assistance information (UAI); and receiving, from the base station, configuration information for reporting of the first UAI; and starting, on the basis of the configuration information for the reporting of the first UAI, transmission of a first UAI message for the reporting of the first UAI, to the base station, and starting a first timer related to the reporting of the first UAI.
