Abstract:
Disclosed are a method, device, and system for transmitting a packet and receiving a packet for performing OAM, related to the field of communications. The method comprises: a controller generates a policy configuration packet, the policy configuration packet comprising operation, administration, and maintenance (OAM) configuration information and first path information, the first path information being used for identifying a first path; and the controller transmits the policy configuration packet to a head node of the first path, the policy configuration packet being used for instructing the head node to perform OAM on the basis of the OAM configuration information. The present application reduces the difficulty of performing OAM with respect to a path, thus increasing the efficiency of performing OAM with respect to the path.
