Abstract:
Provided are a method and device, used for processing a three-dimensional data point set, which can increase flexibility in encoding three-dimensional data point sets and thereby improve encoding performance. The method comprises: encoding or decoding the N-th layer of a multi-fork tree in a breadth-first manner (310); if all three-dimensional data points in the first node of the N-th layer fall within the same node of the M-th layer under the first node, then encoding or decoding the first node in a depth-first manner; N and M being integers greater than or equal to 1 (320).
