Abstract:
Provided is a method for driving an RGBW four-primary-color display panel for a driving architecture in which two source driving lines are used to drive eight columns of sub-pixels by multiplexing. The method comprises: adjusting an activation sequence of a red sub-pixel switching control signal (MUXR), a green sub-pixel switching control signal (MUXG), a blue sub-pixel switching control signal (MUXB), and a white sub-pixel switching control signal (MUXW) in a multiplexing module (10), such that a duration of partial pulse high potentials in at least two of the sub-pixel switching control signals is half a duration of a pulse high potential of a gate scan signal, and a midpoint of the partial pulse high potentials is aligned with a rising edge of one of neighboring three gate scan signals (Gate(n), Gate(n + 1), Gate(n + 2)) and a falling edge of one of another two gate scan signals, thereby reducing a switching frequency of a corresponding sub-pixel switching control signal and reducing power consumption of the multiplexing module itself and the entire display panel.
