Abstract:
A method for eliminating overheating of an electric contact includes the following steps: enabling the available carrying current sectional area of the electric contact to be more than 1.5 times of the sectional area of the conductor (3) thereof; screwing down the electric contact by a pressure greater than or equal to 8-10Mpa;removing completely the oxidated layer on the surface of the electric contact and covering immediately the surface with an electric power compound grease or a silver-plating; using a special fastener consisting of an enlarged and thickened bolt (6) and/or nut (1) to prevent metallic fatigue of copper or aluminum; recessing inward the contacting end surface (2) of the special fastener to retain good dynamic stabilization and thermal stabilization of the electric contact. By the method, the temperature of the electric contact becomes lower than the temperature of the conductor by more than 5%, and the fault rate and accident rate are reduced.
