Abstract:
A method of forming a reinforced fiber base material is employed, the method including: disposing a platform (12) on a die (10), the die (10) being narrower in width than a laminate (1) to be formed in a width-wise cross-sectional view and including a projection (11) having a flat upper surface, so that the platform (12) is adjacent to the projection (11) and a flat upper surface (12a) of the base (12) is at the same height as an upper surface (11a) of the projection (11); laminating reinforced fiber base materials on the upper surface (11a) of the projection (11), thus configuring the laminate (1); vertically sandwiching an end of the laminate (1) in the width direction protruding from the upper surface 11a of the projection (11) on the upper surface (12a) of the platform (12, 13) by a pair of films (14a, 14c)which are secured to the ends of each other on the outer side in the width direction; removing the platform (12); and shaping the laminate (1) to fit along the projection (11) and removing the pair of films (14a, 14c).
