Title:
METHOD FOR GENERATING OXYGEN, DEVICE FOR ELECTROLYZING WATER, AND ANODE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/185068
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for generating oxygen with high efficiency by the electrolysis of water using a copper delafossite compound as an anode. The present invention is a method for generating oxygen, which comprises the following steps: (a) a step of providing a water electrolysis device equipped with a container (11), a power supply (14), an anode (12), a cathode (13) and an aqueous electrolytic solution (15), wherein both the anode (12) and the cathode (13) are in contact with the aqueous electrolytic solution (15), the anode (12) comprises a copper rhodium delafossite compound represented by the chemical formula CuRhO2, and the copper rhodium delafossite compound is in contact with the aqueous electrolytic solution (15); and (b) a step of applying a voltage difference between the cathode (13) and the anode (12) using the power supply (14), thereby generating oxygen on the anode (12) through the electrolysis of water which occurs on the copper rhodium delafossite compound.
