Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for improving safety of a lithium ion battery. The method relates to performing smoothing on edges of a cathode and an anode which constitute the lithium ion battery or edges of current collectors of the cathode and anode so as to prevent the edges of the cathode and anode or the current collectors of the cathode and anode from generating burrs. The method of the present invention performs smoothing on sharp edges to reduce the point discharge effect and prevent generation of dendritic crystals, so as to fundamentally improve safety of the lithium ion battery. Moreover, the method of the present invention has simple process and low cost, is easy to achieve, and can adapt to the existing preparation process of the lithium ion battery.
