Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for isolating cobalt, nickel and copper, which are contained in a waste lithium ion battery, by means of selective leaching. The method according to the present invention is a leaching method for a metal comprising cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu), obtained by heat treating a waste lithium ion battery, and comprises the steps of: dipping the metal in a first solution comprising methanesulfonic acid and hydrogen peroxide, so as to selectively dissolve cobalt (Co) contained in the metal; and dipping a residue, which is obtained from the selective dissolution of cobalt (Co), in a second solution comprising sulfuric acid, so as to selectively dissolve nickel (Ni) contained in the residue.
