Title:
METHOD FOR ISOLATING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE USING TEMPERATURE-RESPONSIVE LIGAND IMMOBILIZED MEMBRANE MODULE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/086838
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In this method for isolating a physiologically active substance using a membrane module to which is immobilized a temperature-responsive ligand of which the affinity to the physiologically active substance changes with changes in temperature, the membrane module has a primary side at which a solution containing a physiologically active substance is supplied and a secondary side from which the solution that has passed through the membrane module is discharged. The temperature of the membrane module is altered by means of the following steps (a) to (c): (a) a step wherein the physiologically active substance is adsorbed to the membrane by passing the solution containing the physiologically active substance through the membrane to which the temperature-responsive ligand has been immobilized; (b) a step wherein the primary side of the membrane module is replaced with a liquid at a temperature at which the physiologically active substance elutes from the membrane; and (c) a step wherein the liquid that is at a temperature at which the physiologically active substance elutes is passed through the membrane to elute the physiologically active substance from the membrane.
